6 Exciting Ways to Find Time to Tweet
March 17, 2010 by TwitterFreak · Leave a Comment
How do busy people find the time to tweet? Needless to say, tweeting requires plenty of attention. Twitter can take up large chunks of your precious time.
If you study the standard web application of Twitter, you will notice that the latest 20 tweets are displayed. The older ones are lost to you unless you take the take to search for them. This means that you must be alert enough to catch the tweets and respond to them as they arrive. How do you find the time for this? This is what smart Twitter users do to keep abreast with the latest tweets, and you can follow the same methods too.
1. Install a Twitter Client
If you are using Mac, you can use a Growl, an online notifying app, with your Twitter client. If you have Windows, you can try clients such as Snitter, TweetDeck, twhirl.org, and Twitterific.
2. Automate Twitter
Twitter can be automated with cool apps such as Tweetlater, which permits you to send welcome tweets to new users, follow people, update your profile, schedule tweets, and so on.
3. Be Alert
You must know what other followers are saying about you and your tweets. In such a case, your responses are of utmost importance. A search engine called Tweetscan can help you keep track of keywords and watch the tweets of other Twitter users. The results can even be plugged into RSS feeds. If you have a blog or a website, installing a Twitter widget is of great help.
4. Twitter and Facebook
You can connect your Twitter and your Facebook profile pages. When you do this, you can update your profile is one place so that it appears on several places. You can check out the details on how to do this at: http://explore.twitter.com
5. Keep Abreast of Twitter Developments
Maintain a list of the latest developments on Twitter. Everyday Twitter updates itself and adds new tools, of which some are very useful to busy Twitter users.
6. Get Tweet Alerts
Arrange your Twitter settings so that Twitter sends you an alert every time someone tweets. Initially, you will find this fun. But as the number of your followers shoots up, you will find that your inbox is loaded to bursting point with tweet alerts.
When you no longer wish to receive tweet alerts via email, check the “direct message” option on Twitter. Your followers’ tweets will be sent to your mobile phone and Instant Messenger, and you will no longer receive email alerts.
